AOD Low Country Crab Boil

If you are having a party with family or friends the AOD Low Country Crab Boil is the way to go. This will feed about 12 to 15 people an it is an AWESOME meal. You can find the recipe here.

This is also a great meal if you are at the campground or staying in a cabin for the weekend.

You will want to make sure you have some type of rack for your fire pit to securely hold the stock pot. Depending on the type of fire pit you have there are several choices. If your fire pit has a built in holder on the inner ring you can use the adjustable swivel fire pit rack and if not you can use the round fire pit grate that has 4 legs. Either option will work just choose what is best for your fire pit.

If you do not have a fire pit you can also do this boil on your grill or even on the stove if you want to, just keep in mind half of the fun is cooking over the open fire.

You will also need a big enough stock pot to cook everything at once. If you don’t have a large stock pot you can get one here or if you have a turkey fryer you can always use the pot from that.

There are several choices for the seasoning but Acirema Outdoors recommends Old Bay Seasoning. We believe it is the best on the market.

A lot of recipes call for shrimp in the boil and that is perfectly fine, We always have shrimp with it BUT we cook it separate. We have an old family secret recipe that is a hit all by itself. Maybe someday I can talk my wife into letting me share the secret recipe with you.

In Conclusion

The AOD Low Country Crab Boil is a HIT every time we cook it. You can always add anything you like to the boil. The best part about cooking over the open fire is you can have a few of  your favorite ice cold beverages while keeping an eye on the boil. Leave me a comment below what you like to add in your boil.
